These are not my work, but I've just found over the internet for use in my comicrack. Do you also have a few in your collection. Feel free to post them here !

www.cgtextures.com/ - check this site. There's a lot of free textures up there, nicely organized in categories. There's wood, paper, etc. You need to register to download images in full size. I think it's nice source of good quality textures.

BTW, cYo - if you're reading this - a small feature request. It nice to see that we can now set "Paper' background for pages but it's always set to tile images by default. There should be other options to choose: fit, stretch, original, tile, center.

For example: this paper would look a lot better if there was option to stretch it to whole page.

Just a rundown on what to do for implementing such a feature:
* Define the types of different image layouts
* Change Effects renderer code to handle these different scenarios
* Change Background renderer code to handle these different scenarios
* Comic Display must implement properties for these new settings
* Workspace must implement properties for these new settings
* Code to transfer new properties from/to workspace/comic display with proper update
* Comic Display settings editor must be updated to allow editing of the new settings
* Translation texts for the new settings.

only the zipfile doesn't appear to have been successfully attached... oops... 120k limit? seems a little parsimonious... I guess I'll have to get back to you... I suppose the frenzied hordes of users desperate for these images will have to wait awhile...

I like dark grey backgrounds with simple pattern. They are easy on the eyes and don't draw too much attention from comic pages.

Sorry, I can't credit creators as I don't have links to original sources but I believe all this can be found on DeviantArt probably.

I found myself not using any paper texture for pages recently. Effect can be really good but only few comics look better with them and it's too much hassle to switch it on and off each time (yeah, I know I can define Workspace for this). ;]
