Weekly Comic Releases is an add-on script for ComicRack that gets you the latest RSS feeds about the new comics coming out each week. It is a recommended ComicRack script.

Latest update: version 0.6.3 (released September 8, 2010)



Here are the instructions to use it:

Install the script Restart Goto File -> Automation -> Weekly Comic Releases Filter the results as you wish by date, comic title, or publisher

To add a publisher the blacklist you can manually add it or right-click on an existing title and choose the add to blacklist option.

The problems I am facing:

Minor problems: 1. Its still very slow on first fetch 2. Blacklists not working properly on adding manually (Right-click & add to blacklist works just fine) As can be seen, Games Workshop is both in the (manually added) blacklist as well as in the RSS feed list Major Problem: 1. Always gives me this error on refresh which has the ability to crash ComicRack:

Surely, these can be worked on, right !

Anyway, the script is now much more advanced than it was in its earlier days.. may do with a little fine-tuning though

I'm aware of the crash problem. Looking for a reason why it's happening. It was working last night....

As for the blacklist manual add feature. It's very case sensitive and only matches an exact match. I basically added the manual feature for testing purposes.

EDIT:Problem fixed. It was an error when no price was available from the rss feed.

Yes.. working fine now with "bugfix" update !!

For the next release, may I request the facility for selecting multiple publishers, and batch adding them to blacklist in a single go..

Added the two requested features.

Note for wild cards characters: They are automatically added based on your selection in the provided dropdown menu. Options are: Is, Starts with, ends with and contains.

Yes.. that was Stonepaw fast Lemme give you same karma..

One thing I would like to point out is that when we batch add publishers to blacklists, the yes/no confirm dialog boxes pop-up one after other for each publisher, and we have to click "yes" "yes" multiple times. When we are batch adding them, I think only a single confirm box should pop-up..
