TOPIC: Why do you use Bookmarks ?
Why do you use Bookmarks ? 1 year, 8 months ago #7825

Another query related to a currently ignored section in The ComicRack Manual
I understand that to set a bookmark, you right-click any open page and set a bookmark. This would be needed when you have to quit reading an eComic in between, so you bookmark it and next time you can easily access it. ![]() Now, there are a few facts that I yet have to understand. Maybe users who often use the bookmarks feature can help me out..
A feature request (or do we already have this..?): We need to open an eComic to access its bookmarks. Doesn't this defeat the purpose of bookmarks ? Wouldn't it be better if we had a menu (like the one found in the Comix software) from which we could see all currently bookmarked eComics ? ![]() I know we can make a smartlists for bookmarks, but still, technically, its a workaround, isn't it ? |

you can make a smartlist to view all bookmarked comics.
you can edit bookmarks from within the Comic Book Dialog (no need to open the comic). I use bookmarks as chapter jump points. If you combine multiple comics to one with export, the beginning of each comics is marked with a bookmark. |

I use it to mark backup features (or second-third-fourth-etc stories in Annuals or King-Size or what have you)

I use it as a chapter marks, especially when I have volume consisting of oneshot stories. BTW: quick search can also search for Bookmarks names so it's helpful to find exact bookmark. And on the Pages tab (both - inside Info dialog, and in the Browser) you can group by Bookmarks so it looks clear.
Sometimes I bookmark a page worth remembering, for example with great artwork. Oh, a little bug: open a file with few bookmarks. then compare: Tool button -> Bookmarks and Main Menu -> Edit -> Bookmarks. Bookmarks names aren't displayed on the second one. And I have one request: to be able to go to the specific Bookmark from file's right click menu in the browser list. If this could handle Stacks it would be a nice bonus. You could view a lot of bookmarks from many files at once. But even for singe file it's still going to be useful - to quickly check bookmarks in the file. |
