TOPIC: Missing Effects Page Transition & Paper options
Missing Effects Page Transition & Paper options 1 year, 6 months ago #9132
|
I do not have the "Effects Page Transition & Paper" options in "Comic Display Settings." I've uninstalled/reinstalled the current version (128), even tried the previous version (125) both on my 32-bit Windows XP Desktop and my 64-bit HP Notebook. I did install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.30319 Extended (Client Profile already installed) on both systems. Must be something I'm doing wrong. Any thoughts?

I downloaded the latest version 0.9.128. I tried it on two different systems (32bit Windows XP and 64bit Windows 7 Ultimate) and even tried using an older version (0.9.125.) The screen has always been this way for me. Quite disappointing :-{( Hopefully there's a simple solution.

Just tried version 0.9.128 on a third system (running 32bit Windows XP) at another location. Same Problem. Perhaps an issue with Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Setup_4.0.30319,) since all three systems needed this version? Hard to believe the issue is with your app, since no one else has reported this problem, AFAIK.

The page transition options don't seem to show up unless you have hardware acceleration turned on.
If you let ComicRack optimize itself during the setup process it may be that your computer doesn't have the capability to use Hardware Acceleration. However, try turning it on and see what happens. The hardware acceleration options can be found in the preferences menu under reader setup: Edit->Preferences->Reader Setup->Hardware Acceleration |

All three systems had Hardware Acceleration on. Apparently only the 64bit HP Notebook running Windows7 supports Hardware Acceleration. I didn't see the effect on the HP Notebook because I was running a Terminal Services session on that system. Once I was physically at the notebook, the Page Transition options worked.
